If you want something on a budget the Gigantus V2 is by far the best value of any pad I've tried, and retains some similar qualities to the Zero, albeit slightly slower and lower quality. Otherwise, the Zero is still the best option if you don't mind sacrificing 5% performance for higher quality. It's a clone of the zero that is cheaper, comes in a larger size than even an Artisan XL, has slightly higher initial friction, and is still very well made by most accounts. If you still want something that is of good quality and you're in NA the LGG Saturn might be a good option.
That can make it frustrating to use, especially as somebody who likes to put their whole arm on the pad. It doesn't have stitched edges, is only 390mm deep, and won't stay in good condition for as long. The big issue is that the PA is lacking everywhere else. It's "free" enough that I don't have any real issues making fine adjustments with pistols and strafing targets, but it still provides enough control that having perfect crosshair placement is essentially effortless. If you want my opinion on the absolute best pad for tac shooters performance wise, the Vaxee PA is still untouchable in my book. What would be "better" depends on what you value.
